Some Province are short of supporting power supply. As of June 2022, thermal power, hydropower and new energy accounted for 45%, 29% and 26% respectively in the power supply structure of one Province, one Province is short of coal and electricity, and the existing regulation capacity of thermal power units has been fully utilized. Although one Province is a large hydropower province, most of them do not have the capacity of seasonal regulation or above. At present, only one pumped storage power station has been put into operation. The Fourteenth Five Year Renewable Energy Development Plan of this Province (hereinafter referred to as the Fourteenth Five Year Plan of the Province) clearly states that 14 pumped storage power stations are planned to be built, of which only some have entered the feasibility study stage and are expected to be put into operation later than 2030. Therefore, before the above pumped storage power stations are put into operation, This situation is also difficult to change fundamentally, and with the rapid progress of new energy construction, the gap of supporting power supply is still expanding rapidly, resulting in the demand for supporting power supply in this Province in the medium and long term. Therefore, the electrochemical energy storage that can be rapidly constructed and deployed must be an important power supply for the power grid before the large-scale operation of pumped storage power plants.
