Cailian News Agency learned during the meeting that the sodium battery industry is starting to "ramp up", and the material end production capacity is constantly landing. There are already large orders, and some companies have difficulty delivering battery end orders.
Li , Vice President of Shandong Huana Co., Ltd., stated at the meeting that the company has landed 500 tons of sodium positive electrode materials and the production line has been mass-produced. In addition, the company is verifying the material and production process fine-tuning plans for the large production line with downstream customers. Next year, a 10000 ton production line plan will be implemented, and the company hopes to achieve a positive electrode material production capacity of 100000 tons within 5 years.
Cao stated that the company's 1000 ton sodium electrical material production line has recently been put into operation, and there have been 200 tons of orders by the end of the year, and the production line can no longer meet the order demand.
A person from a sodium battery company told the Cailian News Agency that the company's production line is still under construction, with a large number of intended orders but no delivery capacity. Currently, the downstream application market is very broad, and there are no particularly prominent main downstream applications.
Sodium batteries now need to identify downstream application markets based on their unique performance compared to lithium batteries, which is also a common view among attendees on site.
Li stated that sodium ions have higher ion conductivity, higher charging efficiency, and better rate performance. They have a capacity retention rate of 90% below 20 degrees Celsius and can operate normally in high and cold environments. To fully leverage the advantages of sodium ions in rate and low temperature performance, they should take the lead in promoting applications in specific fields, such as consumer electronics, garden tools, engineering machinery, and high-latitude and cold regions.
